Andrew Sullivan notes the Iowa Supreme Court will hand down its ruling in a gay marriage case tomorrow. Really hoping I get to update my marriage map then!

If you haven't seen the Extreme Sheep LED Art, you really should. I saw it mentioned somewhere but wasn't that interested so I skipped it until today. But it's awesome!

Apparently Sweden voted for gay marriage!

From the article about Sweden:
The new legislation eliminates legal distinctions between heterosexual and homosexual spouses, but does not force dissenting clergy to wed gay couples.

This is exactly what I would like to see happen here in the US. Wonder how long it will take for us to come around. *sigh*

A long time, sadly. One state at a time seems to be the model...

it's a "state's rights" issue here - our federal government doesn't have that authority.

Well it is state's rights until some state has it, that couple moves to a state that doesn't and uses the "Full Faith and Credit" clause to challenge Defense of Marriage Act. Then it'll cascade down. Different states can have restrictions on marriage per their laws, but flat out denial of it same sex would seem unlikely.
