Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the EndBeing Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End by Atul Gawande
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Very good book about end-of-life care and how modern medicine can be pretty bad at it! Definitely a recommended read even if it is a bit depressing because, you know, we're all going to die someday.

Lesson learned: Assisted living communities or hospice care are both good, but the real lesson is to ask seniors what they want to get out of the rest of their life and use that to make decisions, rather than offering false hope.
