Watson services available on Bluemix - Language Identification [Dec. 6th, 2014|04:52 pm]
[Current Mood |relaxedrelaxed]

Just a reminder - if you sign up for Bluemix before December 10, you can get a free Amazon $10 gift card! (and still be entered in the Lumia 822 raffle!) See details here!

The most exciting part of Bluemix for me are the Watson services that you can use - especially because they're in beta right now and you can use them all for free! So let's take a closer look at another good one for apps: Language Identification.

The Language Identification service can identify what language a set of text is in. Pretty straightforward, but very useful!

Here's a live demo of the Language Identification service, and here's where you can get started with a sample app.

This clearly pairs well with the Machine Translation service, and you can easily combine them to make an auto-translating service, which would come in handy in any kind of social networking app!
